CubingUSA FAQ

Are you competing against the WCA?

No. We are trying to promote more competitions in the USA by connecting cubers. All the competitions would fall under the WCA regulations.

Why don't you setup a forum?

There's not really a need to. If you want to discuss cubing or a potential competition, you can already do that at Speedsolving.com. There's no need to create yet another cubing forum.

Why not use Frappr for cuber locations?

Because that just tells us location, and we can't do anything else.

What will you use my location for?

It'll mostly be used to tell people about upcoming competitions in the US and Canada. If some business is looking for cubers in the area for a trade show or some toy store demonstrations, we can also send out a note to registered people. Also, we use this for State Rankings.

Why do you need to know my gender and birthday?

For registering for competitions, the WCA requires that information. We gather that information now so that you can use your CubingUSA login for registering for future competitions. Since you can login, you'll be able to update your events.

Do I need to tell you my city?

No, if you live in a suburb, you can use the nearby big city. It is basically to get a general idea where you are.

Do I need to be a US Citizen to sign up?

No. CubingUSA is meant for people of any nationality that are living in the US.

I want to have a competition in my town, what should I do?

See the Holding a competition article.

I live in Canada, can I sign up?

Sure, you can select your province in the "State/Province" field. You may want to also visit CanadianCubing.

How do I get more people interested in cubing?

You may want to start a cubing club. You Can Do The Cube has some excellent resources for teaching groups.
